Background
A grounded love meditation – not about a particular person, but about feeling worthy of love, opening up again and noticing the warmth already around you. With a gentle visualisation and a few quiet intentions.
Read along
Find a comfortable position, and let your eyes gently close.
Take a slow breath in…
and let it out.
Again. In… and out.
Let your body settle. Feel where you're supported – your back, your legs, your hands.
Let your shoulders soften. Let your face soften.
Now bring your attention to the centre of your chest.
Just notice what's there. Maybe warmth. Maybe tightness. Maybe nothing in particular.
Whatever you find is alright. Let your breath move gently around that place.
Now let a wish come forward. Something about love.
You don't need the perfect words. Maybe it's simply, "I'd like to feel loved." Or, "I'd like to share my life with someone." Or, "I'd like to love myself a little more."
Let the wish be there, without pushing it.
Now imagine an ordinary day, some time in the future. A day when that love is already part of your life.
Not a grand moment. Just a normal morning.
Where are you waking up? What does the light look like?
Maybe there's someone near you. Or maybe you're alone, and you feel completely at peace with that.
Notice how your body feels on this morning. Relaxed. Unhurried. Safe.
Maybe you're making coffee, or tea, and someone says your name with warmth.
Maybe a friend sends you a message that makes you laugh.
Maybe you look in the mirror and feel kind towards the person you see.
Let yourself feel it. Not the details, but the feeling. Being seen. Being cared for. Belonging.
Let that feeling grow a little bigger with each breath.
Now, gently, let the scene fade, and come back to today.
Ask yourself: what would the person in that scene do today?
Maybe they'd speak to themselves a little more kindly.
Maybe they'd say yes to an invitation. Or reach out to someone they've been thinking about.
Maybe they'd simply rest, because they know they deserve it.
Choose one small thing you could do today. Just one.
Now, let's set a few quiet intentions. Repeat them silently, if they feel right.
I am open to love.
I welcome kindness, and I give it freely.
I am becoming someone who feels at home in my own heart.
I let people see who I really am.
I am worthy of love, just as I am.
Now think of the love that's already here in your life. A friend. A family member. A pet. A stranger who smiled at you.
Let yourself feel grateful for it, even if it's small.
Love often arrives quietly. In the way someone listens. In a message at the right moment. In the way you treat yourself.
Take one more slow breath, and let it fill the chest.
And breathe out.
When you're ready, open your eyes, and carry this openness with you into the day.
